Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta provides a home-away-from-home for over 1,000 families each year and we love when our families share their stories. The Peeples Family shared this story (edited for publishing).
At the Ronald McDonald House in Augusta, Facilities Director Nikia Bennett calls Haley Grace “Cricket” because of her playful joy, constant smile and because “she’s always hopping around and playing”. Everyone at the Ronald McDonald House in Augusta knows Haley Grace and we are happy that her mother, Rachael Peeples has chosen to share her story:
From The Peeples family:
Our story started over six years ago with our miracle Haley grace.
Haley has brain tumors, epilepsy, kidney issues and other things she has been battling throughout her young life.
Haley Grace had brain surgery 5 years ago and she was lost her three times during that surgery.
If it wasn’t for the Ronald McDonald House of Augusta and the staff there, I don’t know what we would have done.
Our family travels now once a month to Augusta for our appointments. RMHC is our home away from home and takes the burden away from us of where to stay. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to afford to come to the best doctors around.
The staff at the Ronald McDonald House in Augusta are our family. Without them, these difficult times would be even more difficult.
RMHC is our God-send and we will be forever grateful for the love, care and compassion we feel each and every time we arrive at our home away from home.
Thank you for caring like y’all do and for showing compassion not just to us but to everyone that walks through your doors.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta serves over 1,000 families each year. Our volunteer run community kitchen serves over 15,000 meals, and our volunteers and families run over over 5,000 loads of laundry every year.
We hope that this story has inspired you to get involved and help families just like this one. The staff, our volunteers and the Board of Directors thank the Peeples family for sharing their story and we hope everyone will get involved.
